Starts well, runs well, 4x4 works well, but has *no Reverse*! Keep reading for details.
This has been my truck for 14 years. I took it to the mechanic in May to have the A/C Evaporator replaced, and when I got it back the Reverse stopped working the next day. You have to take the dash all apart to replace the Evaporator, so I thought maybe the Reverse issue was something electrical....a connector not plugged in or something. But I have been told that's not it....that it was just a coincidence and my Reverse band must have broken in the transmission. So I have been driving it like that for six months, only able to go backwards on inclines. It starts every time and runs well. I have been using it to go to my hunting woods the last several weeks and have driven it a lot, including to Illinois a couple times in the past two months. Here are the specs, with a couple more known problems at the bottom.
2004 Ford F-150 Lariat extended cab
5.4L V-8 Triton (yes, spark plugs have already been replaced :) )
190k miles
Transmission works well other than Reverse.
4x4 works well in High, takes a little more patience to go in/out of Low.
The following items work as they should: power mirrors, locks, and windows; power driver's seat; AM/FM radio and CD player; aftermarket Bluetooth; all interior and exterior lights; cruise control; heat; windshield wipers and fluid; power steering; brakes.
Tires all hold air; three are worn, one has some tread left.
Headlights are *bright* LEDs and less than 6 months old.
Leather interior--very good condition.
6.5-foot bed
Tow package, including trailer brake
WARN VR10 winch is only a year old. It is mounted to the front on a trailer hitch and can be moved to the rear hitch or for other applications.
No pets, no smoke.

- Check Engine Light (CEL) is on, as it has been for 10+ years. It relates to the cam phaser issue these trucks are known for.
- A/C went out again in September. This time I think it's the compressor.
- Lots of body rust and other cosmetic defects--it's a 20-year old truck that has been *used*. :)
