Description
GT Performer for sale.
-'88 frame with "97 forks.
THE PROS
-Frame, head set (new bearings), gyro, bottom bracket, cranks, pedals, sprocket, chain, seat (see photos. Freestyle edition, notice the finger grooves at the rear and front of the seat. New GT repos seats don't have the rear grooves), seat post, seat post clamp, and stem are all 1988 GT original.
-New front and rear break: Dia Compe 883s "quick release", Tech 77 "lock" levers with SST cables.
-Larger foot pegs fit the '97 forks better than the '88 forks. '88 forks will only accept GT fold down fork standers or 3/8 axle pegs.
THE CONS
-The pervious owner modified the frame's and fork's drop outs (see photos) to accept 14mm axels. He did not disclosed this to me when I purchased the bike. The rear drop outs were covered with chain stays/tensioners and the fork's axel bolts covered the fork modification. I took the pegs off to take photos.
NOTE: There is a guy on FB that can make new drop outs. But since this bike was for riding and not showing, I just replaced the forks; tuned the bike and rode it.
-I believe the bars are GT repos.
-Frame has some tiny dings. You can hardly notice them. Honestly, I never even noticed then until I started taking the bike apart.
OVERALL
-The bike is 95% set up to ride (you can ride it as is), brakes need adjusting and rear hub needs greasing. Rims are 95% true, 14mm rear axle, 3/8 front axle with 1.95 65psi tires.
$1500 OBO, cash only. No trades.
916. six one seven. 60. Five four.

Thanks.
